FAQ - Summer 2024 ’FUN’damentals program:
Can my 4 year old register for ‘FUN’damentals? They are turning 5 this fall?
• Skaters must be age of 5 as of July 1, 2024.
My child has never skated before. Can they do the ‘FUN’damentals program?
• Skaters must be able to get up after falling as well as move forward without
any on ice assistance. This is equivalent passing Pre-Canskate (yellow
ribbon).
What happens if I register my child and they do not meet the requirements?
• For safety reasons skaters will not be permitted on the ice unless the above
requirements have been met (must be able to get up after falling as well as
move forward without any on ice assistance. As well as be age 5 as of July 1,
2024).
Please note - refunds will not be given in this instance.
Can parents leave arena area during the program?
• Parents must remain in the stands/ arena lobby during the session in case
your skater(s) need to leave the ice or in the event of an emergency.
Do you rent skates?
We do not have rentals. Skaters must have their own skates.
Do you rent helmets?
• We have a few helmets that may be borrowed on a first come first served
basis. Helmet must be returned after each class.
Can my child wear their bike helmet?
• Skate Canada requires that skater’s helmet be CSA approved hockey helmet
with the certification sticker on it. Bike or types of helmets are NOT permitted.
When does registration open?
• Full Package - open until May 31
• Weekly - opens June 1; closes June 7
• Daily - opens June 8
