Our skating club is very excited to have had three skaters head to Vernon, BC to represent the Island Zone 6 at the BC Winter Games. The skaters have worked so hard to make it to this level of competition. What a great experience for them to have. They were part of a team of 10 figure skaters from the island to compete in the Games.
The full Zone 6 team, made up of young athletes from Vancouver Island and the Central Coast, finished in the middle of the pack in fifth with seven gold medals, 12, silver and 15 bronze overall.
