JDFSC – VICTORIA DAY VIRTUAL COMPETITION – May 20-23 2021
The following is the information and schedule for the video sessions to take place at Westhills arena for the JDFSC skaters competing at this event. Please Note that only skaters registered for this event will be permitted in the arena and on the ice for these sessions.
All skaters must arrive at the designated health check times dressed in their competition outfit and hair/makeup must also be done at home. The skaters will then be permitted in the building the 15 min prior to their event to lace up skates. Masks must still be worn right up until the skater goes on the ice. Off ice warm-up must be done outside the facility as per arena management rules.
We are running the video sessions like the actual competition with the proper length of on ice warm-up for designated skating orders and all solos being done in competition format. Starting order will be posted at the arena on the day of the video. Skaters MUST bring back up CD copies to this event when they check in at the health check, or turn in to Mrs. R this week or on the Monday before.
All skaters must attend their assigned video session as this will be the only time allowed for your competition video to take place and be submitted as video submission day is May 5th! These videos will be live streamed during the actual event (May 20-23) as they are being judged by the officials remotely. The event schedule will also be posted on the Section website.
What a wonderful opportunity for the JDFSC skaters to be able to perform and have their families and people from all over the world view their competition performance on the event live stream! Have a great skate!
The skaters that have confirmed their events are as listed below. If your skater is not on the list, in the wrong category or is listed with an incorrect age requirement needed for us to post in the correct event please email (lrushton@telus.net) immediately to correct errors or confirm age category as of July 1, 2020. Also confirm if there are any spelling errors in the names. Forwarding us a copy of your actual registration is also helpful to ensure we submit all the correct information needed for your skater.

**PLEASE NOTE THERE ARE NO REGULAR SESSIONS ON THESE VIDEO SESSIONS** A MAKE UP SESSION WILL BE PROVIDED ON FRIDAY MARCH 14 AS THIS IS A DAY THE CLUB HAD SET ASIDE FOR ASSESSMENTS. THE JDFSC SKATERS HAVE NOT PAID FOR ICE ON THIS DAY SO IT WILL BE USED FOR VIDEO MAKE UP DAY AS WELL AS THE ‘TASMANIAN SPIN OFF’ EVENT 😊 MORE INFORMATION TO FOLLOW.
VIDEO SESSION SCHEDULE:
Tuesday May 4th (6:10-6:55)
Health check (5:30-5:50) for the following competitors
Pre-Juvenile Women U11 & U13; Junior Women Short Program
Health check (6:45-6:55) for Group D skaters not competing today but permitted to skate the 2nd freeskate session from 7:05-7:50 These skaters must do off ice warm-up outside and not enter the facility until 6:55 as the video session event is taking place. All Group D skaters registered to skate on Tuesdays may skate the 2nd freeskate session.
Wednesday May 5th (6:10-6:55)
Health check (5:30-5:50) for the following competitors
Juvenile Women U12 & U14; Juvenile Men U14; Pre-Novice Women Short Program; Junior Women Free Program
